The Artist
This movie was interesting, I like the way it looks like it was made a long time ago, but there are some things that looked like they were from this year, such as the make up, and some obvious qualities like camera and picture quality. I like the typical story that pride brings to ones life, and the message that it had. It gave one a sad feeling at the character, and I kind of pitied Peppy because she was trying to help in order for him not to get disappointed. And the way her character represents the start rise of feminism and power.

Modern Times
I feel like this movie was highly relatable to other people because of his emotional distress. To be honest, I didn't like this movie that much. I felt distressed because the main character kept messing up. I felt bad for him, but his personality annoyed me. The movie was well made, though. I like the actress that was poor, she seemed to be like the typical poor heroin that would steal and give to the poor risking herself in order to feed her sisters. Still, the movie didn't have a happy ending, and although it implied that they walked off into the distance and everything would be okay, i feel like it was not a satisfying ending.
Duck Soup
Duck Soup was great. It was really funny, and witty. A film necessary for the times of the great depression. The broken mirror part was incredible, hilarious and so clever. Although the story seemed very childish, it did the job in making people laugh and bring out their inner child. All the random gags and tricks that
Metropolis
It was actually fun to watch a silent film. The music never missed a beat and it made the film more exciting, the orchestra showed off its talent. The makeup that the actors used were very intense, but added the dramatic effect when needed. Like when Maria was turned into a robot, her makeup darkened. The acting was also extremely dramatic, because it seemed that they had to use their bodies to express rather than their actual voices. I feel like the movie still ran a little longer than it should have. Other than that it was nice to see something that was recovered from a long time ago and like mentioned the political inference in the movie was interesting. I liked the movie despite my original opinion.
The First 100 Years: A Celebration of American Movies
The movie was well made and the narration was fantastic. It does a great job in informing the pubic about each era of the movie making industry, showing the great progress of American Cinema. It showed clips of movies that pulled you in rather than just talking like any regular documentary. The movie also made one consider the difficulties directors went through back then to have "special effects", as well as appreciation for the technology that is available to us now. Interviews with actors more recently, was great. The movie itself overall was fun to watch and gave a good retrospective of how times have improved American Cinema.
